I have been practing on paper but now on fabric. I don’t see how you sew a circle and half circle with thread on fabric. I can never stay on the lines on it. What do I suppose to look at as a guide?
Hope you get this. Do you have videos for sewing clothes for girls for beginners too.
I have two grandchildren, girls. Both wear a size 5 and and ages almost 4 1/2 and almost 5 years old and I would like to learn to sew them skirts and dresses.
Hope I hear from you,
Sandra
Hi Sandra,
Great to hear that you have been practising sewing on paper! When I’m sewing a circle or curved line I tend to look at the middle of the sewing foot, making sure I can always see the line (or edge of fabric if I’m doing applique) in the gap of the foot that I’m using in the video. I don’t look at where the needle goes into the fabric. Hopefully that helps you. I am currently making some clothes for my little 2 year old girl and have plans in the pipeline to create some easy sewing projects to add to the website here. In the meantime you could check out The Crafty Gemini’s YouTube channel, as she has just uploaded a video on how to make a simple skirt. She has some other great sewing projects for beginners too.
Happy sewing,
Domenica
