DIY Emoji Pillows and free templates! What a great, quick sewing project!

In this tutorial I’ll be showing you how make DIY Emoji pillows! I have also made some free templates for you to download if you don’t feel like drawing the facial features yourself. I have a special helper for this tutorial as it has been created to celebrate Sew A Softie Month. You can find out more about it at the bottom of this tutorial. It just so happens to be World Emoji Day today as well, so I thought these Emoji softies would be perfect.

This tutorial involves hand sewing, but there’s no reason who you can’t complete it using a sewing machine instead. You could also make it a no sew project and stick it together with a hot glue gun, but it wouldn’t be very durable so it’s not my recommended method.

Let’s jump straight into it!

All about Sew a Softie Month

DIY Emoji Softie Tutorial plus free templates - Sew A Softie Month.

Quoted from the Sew A Softie Website – “Sew a Softie is an initiative that aims to ignite a love of hand sewing in a new generation. It encourages parents and children to turn off their computers, put down their smart phones and discover the fun and fulfilment that comes from creating a simple-to-sew softie together.”

So this is why Elyse has joined me in creating this tutorial and she is also an ambassador for Sew A Softie Month this year! She will also be helping me run my Emoji softie workshops, which are coming up quickly.
